What year couild this Merc. 75 hp be?

Does anyone know what years a Mercury 75hp ,3 cylinder engine with the wrap around cowl was produced?

I'm looking at buying one but the owner isn'tsure of the year and it's a bit of a drive for me just to look at it without pretty much committing ahead of time.

That cowling looks mid to late 80s.Same as my 88 V6.Ask for serial # located on transom bracket.You can see it in picture,but cant see number.

Don,t know the year it should be on that tag there lower right under the powerhead. I see it,s a 4 cylnder 4 stroke wih the clamshell cowell I seems to be late 80,s erly 90.s

Need to look again as that cold medicine has got yer eyes blurred It a 3 cylinder 2 stroke.....

It was listed as a 1980 because he wasn't sure and I pegged it as late 80's early 90's ..So it seems like I was in the ballpark.

This way I shouldn't have to change the controls from my 1991 merc 40 that are on my boat now.As my key is on console not controls..ect.
