What year? (FAQ checked)

Trying to find the model year of a Canadian 50hp 4 cyl Mercury outboard. As stated in the subject title, I have checked the FAQ but the links only seem to provide info on US models with the exception of maxrules and unfortunately their listings are incomplete for Canadian models.
The serial number on the motor is 7192048... Can anyone help?

The closest I can come is a 712xxxx series which is an 81 made in canada, judging by the jumps each year I suspect yours is an 87 or 88.

Late 80s vintage 50hp were 3 cyl.

It was built in 1982 and is a 4cyl.
