what year is it?

i have a mercury 115 3cyl. 2 cycle 3 inline carbs, 6 inline sparkplugs p/n 332-7778 A1<br />s/n 64440205 i dont know what year it is. please help, thank you.

Your post is a bit confusing...you say you have a 3cyl..that has 6 sparkplugs. <br /><br />One thing I do know for sure...you mentioned a number for a Switchbox. 7778a 1<br /><br />First generation switchbox of that kind. I would peg your engine to be Mid-Late 70's for year...if it is indeed a 6 cyl engine.<br /><br />TMD

threw us off. But, nevertheless, you have a:<br /><br />115HP 6440183 - 6630170 1984 6 cyl inline Merc. Recheck those numbers though to be sure. The should only be 7 numbers.

hey thanks for the reply, i double checked those numbers for the merc. 115 and i goofed, the s/nu. is 6440205, and the p/nu. is 332-7778A1. i did find a number on the engine block. kh971-8435. hopefully it may be more usefull<br />if so, how would i go abouts on getting a book on this egine only?

last question, im still a bit confused , would a 3 cly. have 6 spark plugs and 3 carbs? cause next to the p/n, it has 3 cyl 2 cycle

No. You have 6 cylinders with one spark plug for each cylinder. There are 3 Carbs that feed 2 cylinders apiece. Unless this is some beast I have never heard of.
