What year is my 33 HP Johnson

I have a 33 HP Johnson motor. I cannot find the model number, but the serial number is J2974236. Can you tell me what year it is? Thanks

Not from the serial number Jim. If it isn't on the port transom bracket, look on the block for a large freeze plug. It will be on there.<br /><br />Let us know. Thanks.

I found the model number. It was on the transom mount on top under the steering handle. I now know it is a 1968 motor, thanks again, Jim
