What year is my engine

Hello everyone, i am new to the boating world as well as new to this forum.
i just got a 1982 regal xl180 with a 150 mariner engine, is there anyone that can tell me if this is the original engine.thw ser#6231646. i ask this so when i need to order parts i can tell them the right engine.Thanks

That motor was built in 1983. Given the year, it is likely original to the boat.

To order parts, just use the serial number you have and you'll be fine.
