What year is my Evinrude Fastwin

I have a Evinrude Fastwin Outboard motor. It is a 18hp motor. I think its from the 60's but i'm not sure. The only number i could find was on a seal on the outside of the pistons so i think that is the serial number. It is 18302E-E12080.<br />Any other info on this motor would be most apretiated like the fuel mixture and what the compression is supposed to be at.

That's the 'Welsh Plug' and you're lucky - you've got both the model number and the serial number stamped into it. Normally, the nameplate is on the transom clamp. Yours may be missing.<br /><br />Evinrude model 18302<br />Year: 1963<br />HP: 18<br />WOT RPMS: 4500 (4000-5000)<br />Displacement: 22.0 cu.in. = 360.5 ccm<br />Cylinders: 2<br />Weight: 79 lbs. = 35.8 Kg<br />Gear ratio: 12:21<br />Fuel/oil mix: 24:1 87 octane gas to TCW-3 rated outboard oil<br />Spark plugs: Champion J4C (were J4J) gapped at .030"<br />Picture <br />From the Old OMC Site <br /><br />There's no compression spec for that engine other than there should be less than a 10% variation between cylinders. 90psi or more by my guage seems to me to mean they're healthy. The exact measurement will vary (sometimes wildly) from guage to guage.<br /><br />Hope this helps!

I too have one that looks identical and never knew its origins. It runs great (its en evinrude of course it does) and I cant seem to find any #'s on mine. Are there other years it could be looking identical to this one you guys are discusssing? And any idea of the value with or without controls? (I dont have the controls anymore, I left those on the boat when I sold it-But it does have the tiller handle on it)

I have a similar Evenrude Fastwin. Seems to be Model 4441-25820. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I need to get replacement bushings for the top... Please help.

A model 4441 is a 1951 14hp.
In the future, please start a new thread with your question rather than dragging up a 4 year old thread.
