What year is my Johnson outboard?

Could anyone tell me what year my engine is? Its a Johnson 25hp and the previous owner said its a 1984 but want to be sure. I can get the model and serial if needed.

I would say 1984 but get the model # off of the plate on the side of it and post it.

I notice my engine has the above prop exhaust. Is there any big differences in performance between the thru hub exhaust vs the style of prop I have?
