what year is my Merc' 850?

Sorry guys, same old question;<br />I bought a merc' model 850 used, serial # is 7071754 but none of the charts I can find (including several linked on this site) tell me what year this motor is.<br /><br />A little help?

Hey thanks mythical beast, that really did the trick. So now I guess I try to negotiate some partial refund since the motor isn't a 1981 as originally billed.

Mine is a 1980 which has the same cowling as a 1981.<br /> http://www.myfishingpictures.com/watermark.php?file=527/1413merc50b-med.jpg I wouldn't be too bothered about value, as there is little difference. Condition is the key
