my merc is a 20 hp with a thunderbolt ignition with a long shaft and manuel start the serial # is 7133881. plz help me find the year!!

found a more accurate way to indentify them.<br />You start with Ser no. Then the rule is<br />1978-79 = 500 Blue/black flecks<br />1980-81 = Blue band 50 with silver text<br />1982-3 Blue band 50 with white text<br />1974 - Blue band discontinued becomes brown<br />Aust serials start with 8<br />USA 3,4,5,6 A B<br />Canada 7<br />Europe 9
