What year is my outboard?

I've got a 3.5 hp Mercury Outboard made in Mexico. Serial # A129096.

I've read all the stickies and google'd it, however all the serial number series I can find that are close to my number start in 1985 and with A129449 and up. I imagine that mine is likely a 1984 and earlier, however I'd like to find out as much info on it as possible.

Nope, it's a 1985 MERCURY 3.5 ML Model No: 1003225.
