What year is this engine?

Can any one tell me what year this engine is and any pertinent info about it. It's a 115 Merc inline 6, serial #7131399. Bought in Canada. Thanks,<br />Adam

One of many places to search for serial numbers is maxrules.com <br /><br />There you will see that the 115hp I6 motors, built in Canada...started with serial number 7123763 in 1979.<br /><br />Hope that helps.
