What year is this Evinrude motor?

I recently purchased what I was told was 20 HP 1994 Evinrude outboard, but someone has since told me based on the model number, that it may be 1992. The model number is E20CREND, and he stated that since the second last letter is "N", and that "N" is the second letter in the code word INTRODUCES, that the motor is a 92. Can someone verify this for me? Thanks!
