this is a first timer here, I used the searches, but to no aveil. So you've heard it before, <br /> What year is my motor? <br />Mercury 110 9.8 HP (Lighting)2cyl<br />Serial number 7103018<br /><br />some casting numbers 74818 837-6476 <br /> 133 stamped twice, must be the assemblers #s <br /><br />I need to get a manual, any good connections?<br /><br />The motor is only firing on one cylinder and I suspect the brain box (# p/n 339 5287A3), due to the rotting and fraid wires...or the coil is toast. any good connections on parts? kev3

To eliminate the coil as suspect, swap the coil wires that come from the power pack and see if the problem follows. This should save you some money if you have to do some guess work.<br /><br />TMD

Don't wanna come over as a Smart#$% but I must disagree on the age. Reckon she's a Canadian 1978. Canadian no's start with 7*<br />Your 710* lines up with USA 481* and in 1985 they weren't called 110's they were 9.8's<br /> http://www.dougrussell.com/partscatalog/images/MERMAR/74962/43.gif

As I said.. Don't wanna make any waves on here and I am by no means an authority.. But someone did at one time enlighten me as to the different S/N's for Canada, Australa and Europe.<br />Ricks 662* and 11hp Referenece comes from here.<br /> http://www.marinshopen.se/ <br />9,8 6620196 - ? 1985 2 cyl <br />or 110 (11,0) 4839254 - ?1978 2 cyl <br />Where a finising number is not shown..<br />But as I had to chase my Australian S/N starting with an 8 all over that net to get a year, I 've found that some counties are not listed on the web
