With that ignition system, I would say either a 1968 or 1969.

Late 70's or early 80's? Hardly!! Man, ya gotta be careful on Ebay.<br /><br />Thats a 55 hp alright but its a 1968 or 69. He even admits it a hydro-electric drive.
