HI, ME AGAIN
here are the pics,
what year,
no serial number that I can find


found 6 plugs... two ignitions ( in pic the paper says 10 9 78 )

3 carbs

I did find one number resembling a serial number I think, 9717328
but no websites have helped with identifying it as a serial number.

Could be a Belgium built Mercury, based on that number.

Any idea what horsepower it is?

It is a 90 hp

would the code on the sticker that is attached to the ignitions.... has the writing, p/n 332-55214a1 with a possible date 10 9 78

so does the belgium built mean I'm not going to get a bottom end for it?\

I am seeking a bottom end, the whole unit.

I found on on iboats, but need the year of it.

Look on the front of the motor, down below.... right above the steering tube. You should see a plate there with a serial number.

If not there, look for a round metal disk on the right side of the block that might have the number stamped in it.

If not there, look on the transom bracket itself. Coudl be a sticker on there, can be seen when viewed from behind the motor.

Where its built is not a problem for parts. Looks like 1978/79 but a serial number will confirm. I'm can't recall what year they switched to ADI ignition. I bet its 1979.

The date you are showing is for one of the switchboxes. Does not necessarily mean date of manuafture, but the cowl wrap is looking like a 78/79.

Your pics are too small to see anything else.

Find the serial number, and we'll pinpoint the year.

Lower units are a bit expensive, and getting harder to find used ones in good condition. But they're available. The gearcase you are looking for fits a variety of motors, over a variety of years which helps. Is your current one rebuildable?

HEY!! I wonder if these pics are bigger!?
I am going tomorrow to look for the numbers!

anbd the bottom end of mine is fixable, the forward went in it, the gears are all chewed up.
But with the amount of intricate parts in it, better to buy all new/reconditioned and looked at approx 1200 plus core to replace.

It's a 1979 and not a real early 1979 at that. Lower units from 1969 to 1988 will fit that critter - many pop up on Ebay.
