what year model?

i have looked at all the links from the information post and am still not sure what year model my new 25hp mercury is. from what I can tell it is an 86 Canadian model. the serial number is A723831. if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

that is weird. that is the exact serial number but the hood and the side of the engine both have 25 sticker on them. could someone have put different decals on the motor? that may have been why I had trouble finding my serial number on the charts because I was looking under 25hp not 20hp.
