what'd i do wrong?

A couple days my friend and I went to a beach with my boat. We were about 300 yards off the beach shore and some guy starts yelling at us. I didnt listen because he was being a ***hole. I drop anchor still a good 300 yards out and we swim in to meet some of our friends. When i got back to the boat i unanchored and went a little closer to shore to pick them up. THe guy pops outa no where again and starts screaming so i just acted like i didnt hear him, then he threatens to go call the coastguard. Whats that all about? Then he asked for our names and my friend said something and i floored it outa there lol

he's was probalbly yellin' 'YOU IDIOT'.. for anchoring out so far an swimmin' 300 yards..

if those guys were shore fishing and you were "too close", that could aggravate them. some spots are mainly for shore fishing. but 300 yards is enough distance. normally, they will yell so you could hear them. in my case, i get a serious look and a wave.

yeeaa he was swimming pretty far out lol We had to use binoculars to see where our friends were.
