It's time for me to replace my drop curtains on my boat that has a hard top. I'm thinking about making them out of hard permanent materials like the windshield and make it more like an alaskan package. Before I start with planning it out I'd like to start with the type of materials.

So you're gonna build hard sides and install windows?
safety glass is the only way.

I have seen Lexan recommended on here often. It's apparently better than plexi for lots of reasons (that I can't remember)

I had to replace the side glass on my boat but didn't have time for the shop to heat treat the glass before my annual fishing trip so I went to Tap's Plastic who said that Lexan scratch much easier than plexi, so I bought a sheet of plexi and cut to suit.

Lexan is more uv resistant, and also easier to cut on a table saw (pex gums the blade up a lot). But nothing beats glass for scratch resistance and overall performance. The only advantage the plastics have is weight. If its glass, make sure you have it tempered.
