i have a 20' bentley cruise pontoon with a 50hp merc bigfoot, i recently struck a rock causing damage to the prop, the lower unit seems to be o.k., well i changed prop to a stainless same size, pitch well since i changed props the engine tops out at 5000 rpm which 500 more than it used to with the ol alum prop.and now theres some rattle or shaking at idle speed, also when i get the throttle hard it seems to be louder and like the prop is slipping but when i check it everything looks ok. the boat is very hard to turn left but i can turn right with two fingers, any help will be appreciated.thanks

Re: whats going on with my prop?

The increase in rpm is good assuming it isn't slip.
You should check the prop shaft it may be bent. You may be able to see by eye or hold something near as you turn the shaft.
Check the fit of the prop on the shaft.
