what's it worth

I have a fiberglass boat(i belive it to be a 1969)made at a company called southern fiberglass.I've checked the web site for finding this info out but it does'nt go that far back,it has a 40H.P.twin cylinder motor(evenrude big twin)wich is a 1969.motor just had major tune up(points,condencer,coils,plugs,ect..)also just had carb. rebuilt. new stearing cable.just woundering what i could get out of this.boat runs exalent.needs paint though. :confused:

I don't think NADA's online value guide goes back that far, but you might hunt around on their listings for a boat and motor of similar size/type from the early '70s as a start. Have you checked your local trader adds, etc. to get a feel for what folks are asking for older boats?

I have tryed looking in classified adds. but i guess no one has boats that old anymore.because ther sure arn't alot advertised now adays.i will look into some of the early 70's like you sugested though. thank you

Avertise it for "$1,500 or best offer." Include a little info about the recent tune-up to show that the rig is ready to go. (I assume this includes the trailer which is roadworthy -- should indicate that the trailer is included.)<br /><br />Good luck.
