I have a 2001 crest 22' triton with a 200 Yamaha SHO. I currently have a 14.5"x15" power teck prop. Boat runs 41 at 5800-6000 rpm. I'm looking for somewhere between 48-50 mph. What prop do I need?? Thanks..

You are not going to get a 7-8 mph increase by changing props. What is the WOT rpm range for your engine? You might be over reving slightly but can't be certain with out the spec. If you are, a slight increase in pitch would lower the rpm but any increase in speed would be small, one or 2 mph tops. Speed takes HP. Other factors will affect top speed. Is the hull clean? Is the load balanced? Any and all unnecessary gear or ballast(sand bags, mother inlaw, etc) removed from boat? Is engine trimmed properly? I can't comment on 'power teck' props as I've never heard of them.

I agree, your about there for speed. A pontoon or triitoon is limited for speed. Tritoon speeds can be all over the place
with basically the same setup.
As suggested you may b e able to tweak a little more ,1 or 2 mph, out of it.
Is your speed by a gps.Really the only surely accurate speed.
At 5800 your slip is about 12%,a respectable number especially for a tritoon. At 6000 your still respectable at 15% slip.
I think you you may be at a disadvantage with a 22 as it doesn't have as much surface area to help it get up on the water.

I would check out the Mercury Enertia. It's made for high performance pontoons. According to Mercury prop selector you would want 16 or 17 pitch. Like others said expect no more than 2 MPH or so.

Thanks guys for the help.. I've tried the 17 pitch and it will only rev to 5000.. It should be between 5500-6000. I think I may need to put wider lifting strates in the toons. I think that would help get more of the boat out of the water. I think my current strate tecknology is old.

15 pitch 4 blade would be worth a try but you aren't likely going to gain much speed.... hole shot should improve noticeably and rpm's should drop just a bit tho
