I installed my engine on my boat about a week ago, and I think I was a little under-generous on applying silicon to seal the bolt holes and around the transom plate. I got a little trickle into my motor well out at the lake the other day, and I'd like to fix it.

So, what's the best to use? Should I apply it just around the bolts, or around the whole transom plate?

Thanks!
shawn

Hey shawn, since your a fellow TEXAN Ill tell ya 5200 is the best. Problem is it takes a week for it to dry unless you get the fast cure which is still a long time. If you ever want to remove it youll pull the fiberglass before youll break its seal. For Motor bolts I like Boat amour. Sets up fast and usually does the job. Dont use life caulk, Its the worst ive seen.
