Whats the differnce

What are TR/TRS outdrives? I seen a trim sender for a TR/TRS outdrive and wonder if it will work on my mercruiser outdrive. My outdrive is a 1978 but I'm not exactly sure what it is. I believe it is an alpha 1?

Those were a rather Large drive used for Big boats,+ Commercial stuff,.......<br />There's Still not alot of them around,+ What few there are,.. the Hot-Rodders are Scarfing them Up........<br /><br />You've got a Pre-Alpha,.. or Mod.1 on your boat.......<br />Nothing from a TR or TRS will fit on Your Drive,....... Well,... Except for the Paint......... <br />Updating to an Alpha 1 is pretty Easy on your's.....

You may have an alpha one on your boat.Look at the matinng surface of the drive to the gimbal housing (the part that the drive goes up and down with.)<br />If it looks like a 'scallopped' rounded gasket is required,you have a I or I-R drive.If the gasket should be straight edged,beveled ... you do have an alpha.<br /><br />They came out in 1983.<br /><br />DHP
