Should Israel be expected to tolerate them, much less give land to them? No offense but I could care less if the Palestinians were put on a ship and sunk. F' em, they're trained to blow up innocent non-Muslim people from birth, I have no sympathy.
Your statements are not factual, your views are not dissimilar to those of the extremists which you vilify

Letting the Israeli's keep that land would be tantamount to saying 'It's ok to take someone else's land by force and settle it'.

Well done to Sharon for pulling out.

Palistinians are NOT interested in peace. They are only interested in killing Jews.

They have vowed to kill the Jews as they leave Gaza.

Pull out - put the wall up - maintain your borders.

Huh - this sounds like something the US needs to be thinking about as well...

Bingo! Now they can focus on securing a fortified border.

In addition, it removes the PR edge the Palestinians have in the rest of the world. They play the role of victims and most of the world's press plays along. Now, Israel has left with nothing in return. If the Palestinians continue to attack they will have a hard time saying it's because they are being oppressed.

From Roman times history has shown that both peoples have been victims of oppression, they were persecuted from the glory days of the assyrian empire and persian empire to days of the Ottoman empire, later on came the British who only made matters more complicated than ever, adding to that there was the horrendous holocaust inflicted upon the Jewish people.
Presently they are both victims of their self-rightous dogma.

I fully comprehend the statement in your above post, however there is a slight contradiction.

"Israel has left with nothing in return."

"Think of all the extra resources Israel will have to protect their country, all because of the Gaza pullout, now they can focus on securing a fortified border."

As i have mentioned in a previous post, this is a very painful decision which Israel has undertaken. Prior to the building of settlements and outposts, rational elements within the government of Israel cautioned that they would not be able to hold on to the occupied territories that was acquired after the 1967 six day war forever.
The West Bank and Gaza are like ticking time bombs to the people of Israel, nevertheless it is heart wrenching to see folks being uprooted from their houses and carted off like animals, surely it would've better in my opinion to allow those that wanted to stay there be able do at their own risk and let them know that they will fall under Palestinian jurisdiction.
I'm quite certain that they would have eventually left without much of the trauma to which we are now witnessing, this is indeed a very sad episode that only can be called the disaster of the shortsighted :(

Vlad, I call it like I see it. I hope that I'm wrong, I hope that this move will lead to peace but I just don't see it happening. The only way I can see Israel's survival is the expulsion of the Palestinians. I'm not trying to start a fight or argument, these are only my opinions. Reasonable people can agree to disagree.

What makes anyone think that the Palistinians will be happy with Gaza?

And what the Isrealis currently have is safe? Get real.

The organization, "Move America" (Now led today, by Michael Moore) shows all of Isreal as Palistinian territory. Hmmm, "Who are the HATERS here???

As previously stated: "the Palistinians are only concerned with killing Jews" That is their mission, regardless of world politics.

That, we cannot change, without dire measures.

They won't - at least in the beginning. But now that they have Gaza all to themselves, they have nobody to blame but themselves. If life doesn't improve their quickly, you may see the average people demand a new approach and throw out the radicals. Or, they will get more militant, start another war with Israel and be slaughtered.

I can't get over the number of American Jews who are anti-Israel - I heard Naomi Wolf today spout all the anti-Israel propaganda of the left today and nearly fell off my chair - these people are professional traitors.

edit: How in world can any American Jew be a Democrat?

This looks like war. I watched the IDF shed tears while they dragged Israeli settler's from their homes. This is not going to turn out well.

Just remember one thing. Peace can not be achieved without Victory. I know that's not progressive or pc, but it is true.

I grew up near Shoiman Oaks California, home of 'the Valley Girl'. You know. Gag me with a Spoon. Frank & Moon Unit Zappa. My Jr and Senior High schools were 40% Jewish. Even way back then I wondered the same question. They have every reason to be conservative hardliners. They work hard, they are successfull, they have been persecuted and above all they should take a tougher than nails stance on issues but maybe it is just a repeat of the time of Moses?

I think that this is the final straw. Fear the Israeli's, they've had enough.
