The wife and I are wanting a deck boat instead of our 17' Four Winns Horizon.

This Hurricane deck boat has the 4.3L engine, which I hear is a little bit better than the 3.7L Mercruiser

What would you pay for his project boat? Not running. Needs reupholstering. 20 years old., etc.

My X-ray vision sees rot and waterlogged foam from being exposed to the elements... no more than $800.

I'd be asking how much he's going to pay you to take it off his hands. You're going to be dumping a couple grand easily just to get it towable (trailer is trashed) and running, not to mention anything hidden such as rotted stringers or transom, deck, and uphostry.

...cushions/foam are bad in spots.
LOL - looks like a couple of squirrels had a nest building contest in there.

To be honest - finding a good deck boat might be kinda' tough (I was looking a while back) and they seem to be a little rare. This one looks like a monumental project. If you decide to go look at it, I'd be hard pressed to offer more than $500 bucks (and that feels steep to me).

That really should be a free boat.

I would take 500 to haul it off.

It's a parts boat. Sorry to burst your bubble. The outdrive and trailer are worth something to someone who needs them. I think paying $500 for this rig is fair. Strip it for it's valuables and sell them.

You are way too generous.
To fix it up nice, and reliable, could cost $6000.

So $0 from me. $500 paid to me if I were to scrap it out for him.

You gotta think that boat and trailer have seen a lot of salt.

The trailer frame may be good, the rest is likely to be junk.

"Would turn over but..." blah blah blah.

Its junk; if you offer $250 the seller should be thanking his lucky stars... Even the trailer looks wanting for TLC.

Maybe I'll pass on this until I have my myriad other projects completed. I'm sure it will still be sitting there.

I wouldn't take it even if you gave me $250 dollars. Not worth my time.
