Hi, I bought this motor without controls or external wiring. Trying to figure out how to shut it off, doesn't have the typical black wire with yellow tracer. What's the 2 yellow wires that are spliced into a female connector for? There's about 14.5 volts there when running. Does anyone know where to tap into for a tach? What's the amp output on these little motors? Thanks, Ryan

The tachometer gray wire (sensor) would connect to the Yellow/Gray wire as you have pictured. THe small dome shaped component with a triangular base is a rectifier which coverts the AC voltage from the stator under the flywheel to DC voltage to charge the battery.

Normal Tachometer wiring is:

Gray = Connects to the Yellow/Gray wire at the rectifier/stator wiring terminal.
Black = Connects to ground.
Red = Connects to a 12 volt supply.
Blue = Connects to a light switch.

Normally, to shut the engine down, there is a button on the end of the tiller handle... push to shut down.

Oh boy, help from one of the greats! Thanks Joe! I should have said, mine doesn't have a tiller handle, its remote only. It doesn't have the red plug that the remote plugs into. Thanks again!

NO tiller handle? Holy s__t!

Okay, look closely at the powerpack... isn't there a Black/Yellow wire leading out from that unit? There should be one.... anyhow, that wire would lead to either one of the "M terminals on the ignition switch, and a black wire from the remaining terminal to a ground. Key OFF would kill the ignition.

If you have no ignition switch, Use a momentary OFF button or a toggle switch.

No tiller handle, long shaft, pretty rare gem.
Ok, I didn't know where it should be, ill take a close look, the wiring has been hacked up , but maybe its there. It's gonna have a toggle switch with push button. Thank you!

Since I retired in 1991, I"m somewhat lacking in the design and circuitry of your engine. I was hoping another member would jump in here with more precise information. However, if the powerpack isn't in plain view... it is more than likely been redesigned and is now located on the plate under the flywheel.
