What's up with my kill switch?

Recently purchased this used boat. Cannot figure out this kill switch. I tried pushing/pulling/turning it

It looks like a wire nut to me.
Maybe the prior owner pulled the switch and wired it as a constant.
Have you tried twisting it off?

I tried by hand and no go. Maybe I'll put pliers on it. I didn't want to break it off.

It is a wire nut, and it don't belong there. Somebody probably lost the lanyard, and bypassed it to get home.

Nahhh... more likely they lost the lanyard and did that while the boat was safely parked in the driveway so as not to miss out on fishing the next day (or just to avoid shelling out $3 for a new one). :facepalm:

Yup, It was a wire nut crazy-glued to the switch. Looks like I need a new switch and lanyard now.
