gw204

I've use Valvoline Hi-Temp Wheel Bearing Grease on my trailers and have had no problems. They are just like a car for the most part.

definatly KEENAL by duckhams, resistant to water and SALT water, long life and high heat melt point, its the best.
but as a pointer, you should strip down annually, inspect and fully regrease for the next season.
if the present grease is muddy brown and smells awfull it has been contaminated with water and was probably not meant for marine use, and should be cleaned out with a degreaser, also check the water seal at the rear of the bearing, replace if torn/damaged.

incidently,KEENAL can be used on marine applications and is recommended for marine use, greasing outboard steering and pivot points, trailer rollers, tow hitches, ect ect 1001 uses, costs £5.00 for a good sized tub here so thats what? $10-15.00 well worth it.

If you use buddy bearings it doesn't make much difference what kind of lube that you use. Keep the buddy bearings full of grease and forget it. It is a good idea to put your hand on the hub after a long ride to see if it is hot. If so pull the wheel, clean the bearings and repack with fresh grease.

Works for me - - for 30 years,

I've used the Valvoline Hi-Temp with good success however, I just switched to a set of Turbo Lube hubs from Tie Down. They have a constant oil bath system and a clear cover. You can always judge the amount and condition of the lubricant. I think, with tax. the two hub set was 60 bucks.
