How can I find out what size bearings to get for my trailer

They are standardised to three different sizes. Most boat trailers will conform--of course, there are always oddballs but: Small 8 inch wheels usually have two 1 inch ID bearings. Larger hubs with say 12 or 13 inch wheels have 1 1/16 inch ID bearings. Larger wheels usually have a 1 1/16 outer and a 1 3/16 (I think) inner bearing. So, pull one outer bearing and depending upon wheel size, you should have it.

You can get them at auto stores, marine stores, bearing supply stores, Wal Mart etc.

Wheel bearings have little to do with tire/wheel size but more with axle capacity. Unless you know that or take the wheel off, remove the bearings and actually look at them, you don't know what you have. A straight spindle axle can have one of two bearing sizes. 1 inch inner and outer, or 1-1/16 inch inner and outer. 1-1/16 being common on 1500 - 2000# axles. Axles rated at 3000 - 3500# have 1-1/16 outer and 1-3/8 inner (not 1-3/16 inch).

I have a Skipper B trailer for my 14' Jon boat. It has 3/4" axles inner and outer.

The chart is intended to cover the most common bearings found on boat trailers. There are many axles and bearing sizes besides those listed here so this is not the "bearing bible" by any means. This chart does get you to 5000 - 6000# axles however.
