When are you putting the boat away for winter??
Here in Maryland I usually do it the first weekend of Nov as a rule. I then end up missing weeks of boating (fall is my favorite time to boat). This year I think I will keep one eye on the weather channel and on eye on the water and wait till the last second. Sure would like to take a boat ride on Thanksgiving. I trailer so the boat is always in the back yard. If we get a cold snap in the middle of a week I will just have to take a day off of work. I have priorities you know. What are you all going to do?

I'll probably put it away in the first week of november. We had Thanksgiving day weekend up here in Canada and I went boating most of it. Lake Champlain(Mississquoi bay) was swarming with ducks and geese! It was a superbly beautiful warm weekend!

I hate to winterize my I/O in the rain and sleet so I put it away already. I use my outboard rig for fall trips and duck hunting until the water freezes. Fall is definitely the best time to run the river!

Like ddboater, I have winterized in a sleet storm and it ain't fun.
The I/O was put away September 14th, the O/B pontoon, and the O/B fishing boat, the 4th of October. Once the college sports start, our weekends get stretched pretty thin. Also need to give the home at least a little attention. It doesn't get much during the summers.

Charles

I'll wait till it starts dropping below 32 on consecutive nights. I have started draining the block and back filling the Drive when I pull it out though just to be safe.... But thats not that much trouble. I keep mine on a trailer and have a shed it stays in, although there is no electricity in the shed which really stinks..

Fall is the best, less idiots out there....

Tallman

Only have an I/O which sits in the water usually till about mid-October. This year I pulled it out several weeks early & drained the block, etc.

At dealers being winterized right now. Gotta learn to do it myself!!!

The boat is out on the hard now and winterized. Just waiting for dry weather to tarp it. Like Nikk said we're having lousy weather here in central Ontario. Should have still been in last weekend however, the weather was awsome.

Winterize? Whats that? I really feel for you guys who live in areas where you can't boat year round.I just drained the block did a outdrive service changed the oil and put the glastron in the garage. I only use the old boat in winter to fish because it has a cuddy and on the nights when it gets into the low 40's out on the bay it can be down right chilly. Lets hope for a short wet winter so we can all get back out on the water asap! Seriously I think I need to rebuild my heads and freshen up the motor this winter cause I'm getting valve float anf loss of power above 4200 rpm.

Well that's it for another season. Tarped For Now on Sunday. Good thing since we may have snow flurries by Wednesday. I guess I'll have to get my boating fixes on the forums and by rebuilding my genny over the winter.
