When did Glastrons become all fiberglass?

Hello all, I recently found this forum, and it seems like an incredible resource!

I currently have a 14 foot aluminum with 15 hp evinrude for fishing, but the kids are getting bigger and I am now looking for a Bowrider or a fish and ski. Probably in the 19 foot range. The Glastron boats look pretty nice to me and they seem plentiful on craigslist around me. Now from what Ive gathered Glastrons are all glass now right? No wooden stringers or floors? Am I right or wrong about this? This seems like a great Idea to me after looking through the work done in the restoration section :)

The thing is a lot of the boat ads i have seen say "needs new floor" or the floor is soft. These are mostly 70s boats though. there are a lot of early 90s boats that dont mention that. However will they become soft? So does anyone know when the went to an all glass boat? I think they call it VEC right?

thanks in advance

I can't say for certain when they went to all fibreglass, but certainly anything prior to the 90's will likely be wood construction. A well maintained glastron is a pretty respected boat though. Up here they are quite popular, and there's always a chuckle at the ramp as I am launching, as there's usually at least one older glastron launching at the same time. You wouldn't believe how often I get asked if they can take a pic of my boat beside theirs for that 'new school' and 'old school' shot...seriously.
