When were my outboards made

Stupid question of the day me-thinks but I acquired a 1985 Bayliner Trophy with twin Evirude 70's on it but have no clue as to their dates of manufacture. The boat came from the factory with a single 140 but these were added on at a later time. Could there perhaps be any numbers on the heads that could be helpful? Thanx all.

Hi, Thumper.<br /><br />There should be a plate riveted to the engine mount with model and serial numbers.<br /><br />Failing that look for a freeze plug on the block. It should have numbers stamped into it.<br /><br />Good luck.
