Yesterday I was doing some glass work and sanding prep for painting the cabin. Woman wanted to help. Ok. Im on top of the cabin, facing the stern, busy with a random orbit sander when woman, giving in to her genetically programmed predisposition to clean (cook and serve), drags the little ShopVac on wheels up there to rid the work area of all the dust. Shes behind me, sucking up dust, feeling helpful. A big party boat passes by. Wake. Unbeknown to me, woman skittles off the cabin top. The boat rocks, I turn to see if woman is ok. Shes gone and the ShopVac is on the move. Couldnt get to it in time. R2D2 takes the plunge into the S.F. Bay. I look back at my work area. Something doesnt look right. There is an empty socket in the GFIC where something else once was plugged in. Quick survey reveals a missing variable speed close quarter drill and a $15 3M RoLoc. Tangled cords can do that. I guess R2D2 took a friend with him. I look back at the bay. ShopVacs have the motor on top. Being top heavy they immediate flip over when they hit the water. It floats. I fish R2D2 out. I keep looking at the bay as if the Milwaukee close quarter drill will come floating by, too. No such luck, but there goes the $7 roll of blue masking tape, just out of reach. The tape has limited floatation and soon the roll of tape joins the drill on the bottom of the bay. I go to buy another drill, $150. I tell woman she has to buy the beer. She does, but she drinks it all.

Its just after 11am. Woman has an idea, lets go work on the boat! Dog looks at woman, looks at me. He knows, too!!! Yes, dear, good idea! Ill be ready in 5-mins.
