full line was engraved in metal of dipstick and broke when wiping oil off with paper towel. Yeah I don’t how it’s not in the pan but local shops are having a hard time finding me a dipstick. One shop says they aren’t sure if the original omc dipstick is the same and if it’s not the same one as my rebuilt jasper id have to pay shipping there, shipping return and restocking fee if I don’t take it. Here’s some photos if anyone knows where to get it. They are saying numbers aren’t good numbers. ( seen in photo). Pretty sure engine is an 87’. Omc 5.7

Is holding oil level right above where it broke safe for mean time? I can’t imagine it needs that much extra oil so I can see my oil level?

Ayuh,..... Did it snap off, At the full line,..??

If so, make a new one outa an ole shift cable, or ole throttle cable, or an ole whatever cable,.....

Ya know where Full is, so if it holds 5 qts. change the oil, dump in 4 qts, start if for the leak check, 'n to fill the filter, then mark the new dipstick for 1 qt low,.....

Go to a salvage yard, pop the hood on a van..... Then cut down the 7' long dipstick and remark
