I know this is the wrong time of year to be thinking about this but curious where I can buy a plastic jug with a hose hook-up. I would like to buy one so I can hook it to a flush muff and drain RV antifreeze through the hose to the muffs. I have been searching the Internet for one and only running into water jugs for drinking stations.

Thanks for helping with this quest!!!

I have seen them for sale however....... 99% of them are home made.

If you are draining rv antifreeze out it is usually non toxic and if you just hook up your miffs and flush it will not hurt anything.

If you are trying to put antifreeze into the motor, that is a bad way to do it. Unless you know exactly what you are doing, there will be water in the block that will freeze. If you know exactly what to do, you will use another method that works better. Look in the I/O section for the answer.

If you are trying to get the antifreeze out of the motor, that method won't work. The intakes on an I/O (or outboard) are one way(in only). The best thing it to pull the block drains and let the AF drain into the bilge. Catch it with a funnel and bucket when it comes out the garboard drain under the outdrive. Save it for reuse.

Re: Where can I buy a jug with a hose hook-up for winterizing

Thanks for the replies. I am looking to add RV antifreeze to the engine this fall. I also want the jug to use it to winterize my pressure washer so I can leave the washer in the garage as well. The way I winterize the boat is I pull the plugs and drain the water out. I then put the plugs back in and pull the thermostat and pour RV antifreeze right into the top intake and fill it. I then drain the antifreeze out, and refill again, That always seems to work. I guess I want to look at getting away from always pulling the thermostat.

So basically I need to head to Bomgaars or Ace Hardware and figure out how to make one.

Huckle, You are winterizing the block the correct way. You do not need to repeat filling the block, however. You do the same with the manifolds?

I would stick with it. Using the muffs and AF is very uncertain, at best
