The selco should be adequate for most things. The Yamaha manual can be ordered from a local dealer.

Re: Where can I find - Yamaha Book

I am with Ray again :) .
the seloc manual will cover enough to get ya through a basic overhul. read and highlight just the sections that pertain to your motor as the manual covers many models and sometimes gets a bit confusing with model changes.
but the bore specs and piston piston pin and crank specs are all there. the surface flatnes specs for the heads and the torque specs are there as well. the block mating surfaces you can use the yamaha sealant or gel seal and pick up a tube of 3M super weather strip adhesive and go by a merc or BRP dealer and pick up a can of perfect seal or gasket maker DO NOT use silly cone anywhere on the motor, midsection or lower unit, period. NO SILLY CONE. my experince with aftermarket gasket sets is they generally bite.
pistons and rings and bearings seem to work ok. with fuel pumps its easier to just buy them new.
carb kits I tend to like factory stuff, aftermarket water pumps seem to work ok. make sure you do the pressure valve grommet and new tstats as well. now may be a good time to update your oil pump to the late style mikuni pump as well. in any case now would be a good time to clean the screen in the engine oil tank ALWAYS use a new seal on the screen nipple. may as well change the remote oil tank filter as well.
when its all back together get a copy of the carbed motor PDI sheet and check off each block, actually do it. that will include a fuel system vacum test.
