The difference is in the risk involved. Someone like Bill Gates, for example, took a risk, built a company, and now is worth billions. Good for him. He deserves it.<br /><br />Grasso, on the other hand, was more a technician and a regulator, and involved no personal risk. That is not to say he should not have been paid well, but that is excessive.<br /><br />And that being said, it is the board that should be fired or resign, and not Grasso. They were the ones that authorized the money. He just accepted it.<br /><br />Grasso did a great job, and I'm sure he would have taken a bit of a pay cut if asked.
