Where do I find the HIN?

I'm looking at buying an abandoned boat and I need to find the HIN (Hull Identification Number) on a Citation 1900 CC cutty cabin. It has a lost title and I have no information about the boat except the manufacturer. It has a Volvo Penta AQ131A I/O drive and is in parts. I am thinking of applying for a salvage title if we can't find the current owners location. All I have to work on is the bow number on the hull. Any help would be appreaciated.

On the 1988 Larson, my HIN badge is on the stern, starboard side, just above where the waterline would rest. I believe there is a second badge in the cuddy cabin; port side.<br /><br />I hope this helps!<br /><br />Ken

The registration # on the hull will help you locate the owner by contacting DMV. the hin # should be on the stern of the boat on the out side of the hull.Some boats have it on the inside so you will have to search around.If the boat has been abandoned the hin tag has probably been removed.Charlie
