I always say buy from your local dealer.

But if online, why not buy from IBOATS ?

I have had real good service and price from Bam Marine. Always a good price and fast shipping. Of course they are Mercruiser parts only though. I have ordered everything from bolts to pulleys and everything you can think of from them. They also have nice break out pictures to lookup part numbers if you want to order at your local dealer or somewhere else.

My local brp parts dealer is the biggest a-hole on the planet. I refuse to buy anything there.

Iboats has been very good - fast shipping.

Found 2 places that are pretty good. Stemtostern.com and Boatfix.com Both are pretty good. Stermtostern is a bit higher but offrers free shipping on orders over 100 bucks but you have to be a member which cost 10. Boatfix is a bit cheaper and shipping rates are competive and have seveveral warhouses they ship from. Had good luck from both.

I think it's too bad you and your local dealer don't see eye to eye.Seems you are on the lower level.Because you can only lose.

My point is online is great. But the dealer up the street may have the part you need NOW,and you leave for Lake ++++++++++++++++ in the morning.

Of course you could start your vacation on Wednesday.

More than 1 industry has
to compete with the internet.
I'm with DHP and try to buy
at a local shop I have a relation
with. That being said, major
parts I go for the least cost, regardless
where that might be.

I second that DHPMarine.. I thought online HAD to be cheaper right? Wrong, I ended up buying parts at the local marine shop. They are within pennies of the online price (once you add in the shipping) and no wait!!! I like to use online shops to browse and get pricing. In some cases if there is something much cheaper I will opt for using iboats.

DHP you should meet the dealer in Commack 1 mile from my house ALLWAYS in a BAD mood :(

Now if i go to Islander boat center which is 9 miles away, i walk in there ALLWAYS HAPPY have 10 times more stuff in stock and if i pay cash they cut me a break on the prices and bend over backwards to get me things they dont have in stock

And even call me when its ready for pickup :)

This is for any fellow Canucks on here. Just had a great experience with Http://www.marinemanifold.com

Owner's name is Trevor Bergmann and he's in Vancouver. He specialises in old/obsolete boat parts. I needed an exhaust elbow for a 1975 OMC I/O. I e-mailed him some info, and he e-mailed me back a quote the next day.

He was very helpful on the phone, visually confirming for me that it was the right part. And at HALF the price of the only other source I could find. Had it to me in 3 days! Very pleased with my experience and wanted to pass it on.
