Where does everyone put a TUBE with a OB when not in use? Just wanted some opinions on what works for others for this. I've seen were it's left behind on the "WYE" rope and out of the boat to allow cruising to and from... Anyone see an issue with doing t that way?

Deflate it and stow it.

Todays, air pumps are very efficient and well worth the money they inflate and deflate quickly!!

Agreed. Cordless air pumps make quick work of inflating/deflating. You can roll most of them up and put them on the rear deck or on the floor.

I simply deflate and jam it on the floor in the bow or at least I did back in my trailering days. Takes maybe a minute to inflate with the 12volt powered inflator.

We deflate and stow now, too. You can get a nice 12v air pump that will inflate a tube in minutes for $20 or so.

What's a GOOD 12V pump? The one I had was junk.

on the floor behind the helm seat and splashwell. Or stand it up beside the center console.

We have an I/O, but we simply pull it behind us, empty, when not in use...

I strap it to the swim platform when underway.

I use a Coleman cordless rechargeable that I got from Wally World's camping department. Holds enough charge to inflate a 3-person tube several dozen times. I like having it cordless so that I'm not strapped to a 12V receptacle.

do you dry the tube off before storing it? I was worried about added moisture in the boat when I put the cover on and possibly ruining the tube with mildew if stored wet. I bought a inflator, but of course bought one with a plug and my boat doesn't have a recepticle:facepalm: I think I have a converter somewhere, but the cordless option seems like a better idea.

I bought this Airhead pump one here on iboats, and it works VERY well. I can inflate a large 3-person tube in a just a few minutes. It has enough ooomph to fill the tube so it's quite firm. No "topping off" with lung power is needed!

lfunk, I do not care if the Inflatable is wet when I stow it, everything is dried once I get home or back to camp, I also have a pump that is 110 volt AC, mine came as a package with a large inflatable we purchased so I installed an inverter for it, yeah its overkill but I think the 110VAC pump is much more powerful and I like the option of having AC on board when needed, it has proven to be handy, but I did have to tell my wife the inverter will not handle a blow dryer...

on prior boats, I would strap the tube to the swim platform or the bow area.

I use a set similar to these Tube Keeper Tie Down System - Airhead TB-101 - iboats

On the current boat, it gets strapped to the fore deck or deflated and shoved in the cuddy.

I have even turned the tube upside down over an outboard and strapped it to the motor cowling with bungee cords (an old merc 500)

the boat and everything in it should be dry before you cover it. That can be difficult in most boating circumstances--which is a good reason to have a boat that doesn't need covering, or one that is not equipped with moisture-holding features like carpeting.

So I leave my tube outside uncovered to dry before putting it away inside--that may include jsut leaving it on the boat for a couple days, since the boat isn't covered. Simplified boating is the best boating!

On top of the bimini or t-top. Deflate prior to driving home and store as normal.
