Where does the water exit?

Hi guys I just got a 1974 Evinrude 50 HP outboard and I put it on my stand and fired it up. My question is where does the water from the impeller exit the motor? I see water shooting out a few holes on the gear housing with the muffs on and the upper one seems to be hot water. On my little 7.5 Merc the water comes out just under the engine cover so I thought this would also. Thanks.

The exhaust exits through the propeller hub, some water will come out there. See that group of 6 or so holes just above the A/V plate? That's the main water exit. On the muffs, it'll pour out every available opening.

Any where exhaust comes out for the most part.
