Where is the oil pressure switch / sensor?

So on 5/5/12 I took my boat out and well my engine would bog at 2800rpm (AND) it would take a while to get to that rpm. I made adjustments and noticed that the accelerator pump wasnt properly connected. In summation, I took the boat out today to the colorado river and noticed the following. My boat will take off extremely fast (which it didnt). It'll allow me to pinn it until it hits about 3,400rpm's now then bogg down completely to an extremely slow speed or die. Excellent take off power though. I've been reading the past few hours, and read about how the fuel pump is controlled by the oil pressure switch. How do you turn this switch off, replace it, or troubleshoot it?

What I've done to my boat
1. Replaced my spark plugs with NGKS (Champions prior)
2. Fixed the accelerator pump on the carb
3. Put it in a fuel filter earlier this morning.
4. Ran seafoam on 5/6/12

So again and after reading, some where saying that the oil pressure switch would turn off your fuel pump if you were hitting saves, going to fast, etc. Do these go bad? What do they look like? Where are they located?

Please assist, thanks.

EDITED:
Was considering buying this:

But would maybe like to hear thoughts on the oil pressure switch first?

Someone didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Obviously some idiot with a keyboard.

What engine are we working on? Got a model number?

Don,

Thank you for always being helpful with your responses. A real asset to this community im sure. But yeah I've tried everything and found a few responses talking about some oil switch stopping the fuel pump. Here's the details on my boat, do keep me posted given you know anything. Again, thank you so much.

Serial:
4012049068

Product No:
3869058

Engine:
Volvo 5.7GSPEFS

Edit:
*******Or don, if this doesnt exist would you just recommend replacing the fuel pump? I dont have a parts catalog, but its a 2001 Caravelle interceptor 212. Any idea on the fuel pump part number for this type of boat? Again thanks

Re: Where is the oil pressure switch / sensor?

You have to be careful what you read. Mercruiser uses an oil pressure switch on it's carbed engines as a way keeping power to the fuel pump so it doesn't run when the engine is off. But that is for Mercruiser, Not Volvo. Volvo controls the fuel pump through the alternator and diodes.

Start by doing a pressure test on your fuel pump while trying to get above 3400 rpm. There have been a bunch of posts lately where the screen on the inlet side of the pump (Not the filter, this is in the end of the pump) is plugging up or partially plugging up. Might want to give it a test.
When doing pressure checks, make a rubber hose with the proper fittings and tees for your gauge. DO NOT cut the line from the fuel pump to the carb.

Re: Where is the oil pressure switch / sensor?

I got the fuel pump right here in hand. I can see the screen on the bottom of it, it doesnt appear to be clogged and looks perfectly fine. I do try and blow into either or and its fairly hard to do so. idk how to test this... If the screen looks ok, should I assume all is well and put it back/prime -- or should i just buy a new one ? I did create a new thread about the hose that connected to the innlet. I tried sucking gas out from that assuming it just went straight to the tank, but couldnt. Maybe thats clogged? id like to find where this and the antisiphon thing connects to possibly trouble shoot these two things (anti siphone and fuel line)
