where to buy a new/ish 165 mercruiser engine????

i want a new 165 merc I/O engine
also need a new or referbished outdrive package
any links?
ok so i looked on iboats for about 2 seconds and found a complete outboard package for 1300..
but still need a motor

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Search 'round for a rebuilt/ reman. long block,... They're out there,...
Yer not gonna find a New motor,...

If yer goin' that Deep,...
Find a rotten hull, with a 4.3l, V6, 'n an Alpha drive to junk out as a Donor boat,...

How 'bout tellin' Us abit more of the back-story of yer new boat,..??

My guess is a new motor or new drive ain't really the Problem,...

What yer thinkin', will set ya back, several, to Many times what you paid for the boat,.....

Another option is do a rebuild on the motor you have.....

only problem with finding a donor boat is finding it , and then if they didn't take care of the boat there is not much hope that they were very good at taking care of the engine or the drive so better off just getting a re manufactured long block and drive to start with and skip the hunt for someone else s junk imo
