1986 yamaha 175hp 2-stroke engine.
the power tilt main motor is starting to leak and cant keep the engine in one spot.
we need to service it. I looked on the Iboat store and looked in the yamaha parts section and in the tilt/trim section and cant find any rebuild stuff.
anyone know where I can order this along with the tool to take the cap off the cylinder?? tool should be something along the lines of a 90* bent pair of large needle nose pliers is what I imagine.
and yes, I've done hydraulic cylinder repair in the past.
I'm at work right now and my neighbor is in the backyard building an a-frame to lift the engine off the boat as I type this so we can get specifics hopefully on the cylinder itself such as manufacturer and model # if we cant get a kit through yamaha or whatever.
its a pain in the *** too...2 bolts broke off in the support brackets is why we have to do it the hard way. probably have to machine them down in my press and helicoil them....sigh.
