Where to Connect Merc water pressure gauge

I have a 1978 6 in-line 140 hp Merc. I believe the serial is 4865109. I want to connect a stock Mercury water pressure gauge, but the instructions only cover later model units. Anyone know where to connect the pressure tube on a 140 hp power head? Is there a plug on the block it connects to... or is there a water line that needs to be cut and have a "T" connector inserted?

bryjack, I recently installed a water pressure gauge on my '77 150HP inline 6 Merc. The kit included a brass tee. The tee replaces the black plastic elbow on the head water jacket cover (where the teletale is connected). The tee had a hose barb for the gauge and a female thread to reattach the orig. elbow.<br />If your kit doesn't have one of these tees and barbs, you can get it at any plumbing supply place.
