Hi all,
As the title says I am looking for somewhere I can find a donor engine for parts for my 1972 65 HP Evinrude. I recently threw a rod, and my crankcase is looking a little too much like swiss cheese (both sides but thankfully only the bottom cylinder). I am looking for either a crankcase, or a donor engine that has a good crankcase that I could take off. It would also be nice if I could get some advice on sourcing a new crankshaft, piston, piston arm, bearings etc.
As much as I would like to just scrap this engine and get a new one, It seems to be much much cheaper to try and find replacement parts for it and do a full teardown. I guess that's just what I get for buying a 50 year old engine : )
If anyone knows of cheaper alternatives to get similarly powered motors, I am open to suggestions. I don't mind being my own mechanic as long as they are not hopeless.
