Where to find plastic to cover holes in dash

I just upgraded my factory dash-mounted GPS to a Raymarine C80 w/ 2k2 antenna. Looks great, works great. But now I have a hole in my dash where the old GPS display was, and I would like to find a piece of plastic that matches my dash to make a cover for it. I have totally struck out trying to find anything suitable. Anyone know of a place to find such simple pieces of plastic?

A pic of what your dash looks like would help.

BUT, you could use various things to fill the opening, depending on the size of the opening.

You could try a cabinet shop (especially a counter-top company)

?? A hobby shop ??

How about some Corian ??

Just a couple of ideas off the top of my head.

What is the size and what is the thickness do you need. How are you going to attach it ? What Color ?

I don't have a picture of the dash handy, it's a faux-mahogany plastic. The hole is approx 5.25" x 4.75", so depending on the material probably 3/16" or 1/4". I've decided I'm being too anal about trying to match the dash design. The C80 display hides it anyway, you only see if if you look from the top or side. A piece of smoked or black plexiglass will do just fine!

This is a great site though, I see alot of excellent and timely responses.

Any glass shop in any medium size town will have smoked plexiglass. I'm not talking about auto glass here -- glass as in windows, mirrors, shelves, etc. Check your yellow pages. My gosh -- I just Googled "Smoked Plexiglass" and got all sorts of hits. Here is just one on E-bay. On the cheap, you can get a small piece of oak or maple plywood at any home improvement store. Stain it to match the imitation mahogany. Seal it with several coats of polyurethane and be done with it.
