1988 Thundercraft. Humminbird PiranhaMAX 150. Instructions state at least 15 inches to starboard of a clockwise prop and away from ribs, stakes, and turbulent water. That is pretty close to where my speedometer pickup is. It seems that the speedo already has the best spot. Can I mount it a 3 or 4 inches starboard of the speedo pickup? Pictures attached. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks.

Yup, and measure twice, drill once. Use some 3M 4200 to seal up your holes. Follow the transducer instructions exactly so you get the correct depth of the transducer in the water.
Mine is about 4 or 5" to starboard of the pitot, once I set the depth correctly it reports at all speeds. The previous owner had it too deep.

If I mount it 4 to 5 starboard of my speedo pickup do you think it will be to close to the rib? You can see the rib in the second picture.
