Where to put controls/cables

This boat is 19' long with a center console(removed for new stringers/deck) and the previous setup had the controls coming up from the deck on starboard side rear of floor. The controls came up inside the center console which I'm ok with but in the rear, what recommendations can you make since I'm building a new floor anyway. The center console has plumbing for live well in front but I would prefer to have one or two livewells in the rear and make the front just a cooler with a drain to the rear. I'll post more pics tomorrow. Boat is called a ski/barge-19' 02" long and 7' 6" wide at widest point with a tunnel hull. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Well, at this point it's a blank canvas...I would check out other similar rigs and decide which layout I like, then adapt that to my rig as I continued with the rebuild/refit. You can put the console anywhere you want and the power source, too. If you have any length of wiring to route, I would consider putting it in some kind of water-resistant, protective chase (tube). Keep the pix coming, that's a unique boat.

That will be a lot of weight at the stern ,(2 baitwells).
The controls have to come out off to one side to allow the cables to sweep or turn, they can't come out directly in line with the prop.
I would put it in the water and move some weights around and see if it will plane out.

Re: Where to put controls/cables

I appreciate the replies so far but if some of you guys have pics of the back of your boat and how the cables route through the hull, I would love to see some of your work. I've been all over these forums looking at different setup but can easily get lost in a post if you know what I mean. Here's some more pics of demolition so not too much more to do and I'll start with stringer layout.

Re: Where to put controls/cables

Well, nevermind then. I guess I'll just turn this thread into a detailed how to from a novice to another novice. As you can see the boat will not run at the moment to test out different ways weight will affect the build. I have decided on 2 storage departments in the rear above 2 bilges on either side, a battery compartment and an area to bring controls up from center console directly in front of motor and directly in front of that will be the livewell. In front of the CC I will also install a fish box to tie into drain along with cooler in CC. Should be interesting as I don't know chit about boat building or boat motors but after all this is done, I'll be able to talk it up with the best of ya'll.
