Which 10HP Johnson should I look for.

I need a motor around 10hp for a lake that has a 10hp restriction. Any thing around 10...9.9 etc. would do.

Anyway which model Johnson from what year would you guys consider a very reliable motor to purchase and put a little work into doing a tune up/carb/impeller. Any favorites??

I prefer the '55 through '57 10hp johnson/evinrudes. I also like the '62 and '63 model although I've never had one. Other than that, a late 70's until the last 2-stroke 9.9's that OMC made can't really be beat. The '53 model johnson 10hp seems to be particularly powerful but is a little harder to work on, though not bad. It's one of my favorites, too. Probably my fastest OMC 10hp motor.
